{"41660":{"#nid":"41660","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Georgia Tech\u0027s Office Supply Exchange Expanded","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech is taking an earth-friendly and budget-friendly approach to office supplies with the expansion of its one-day office supply exchange event to a year-round program, Office Supply Exchange 365.   \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EUnder the guidance of the Office of Solid Waste Management and Recycling\u0027s Manager, Cindy Jackson, Office Supply Exchange 365 allows all departments on campus to donate  unused and unwanted office supplies in exchange for other needed supplies.  Office Supply Exchange 365 is a free service - there is no charge to donate or shop for supplies.  \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EShoppers will place orders through an online catalog.  Once processed, orders will be available for pick up at the Office of Solid Waste Management and Recycling.  Shoppers will be notified by e-mail when their orders are available.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EWith a tentative launch date in July, Office Supply Exchange 365 is concentrating on building its inventory.  Georgia Tech student and supply exchange coordinator Tara Bryant schedules all drop-offs and pick-ups. The mission of the Office of Solid Waste Management and Recycling is to encourage and expand recycling, waste diversion and reuse programs and promote efforts to decrease the amount of waste produced on the Georgia Tech campus in order to ultimately reduce the amount of waste Georgia Tech landfills. \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAccording to the Office of Solid Waste Management and Recycling, the most recent office supply exchange inventory totaled $7,891.25 and diverted hundreds of pounds of waste from landfills.
