  <body><![CDATA[<p>Mid-June marks the national “Week of Making” – when “every company, every college, every community, every citizen” is asked to embrace entrepreneurial activity in the areas of design, manufacturing, and STEM.</p><p>Georgia Tech is all about making new solutions. So what’s taking shape?</p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hundreds of newly inspired minds at K-12 <a href="http://www.gtcomputingoutreach.org/summerCamps.html">computing camps</a></p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href="http://www.stingergraph.com/">streaming graphs</a> to analyze petabytes of data</p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; proof that <a href="http://www.cc.gatech.edu/news/410641/new-research-eric-gilbert-tanushree-mitra-finds-25-tweets-are-inaccurate">some of those tweets</a> are fake</p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; the next generation of <a href="http://www.cc.gatech.edu/news/406661/icra-2015-showcases-georgia-techs-newest-robotic-and-automation-work">robots</a></p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href="http://www.cc.gatech.edu/news/402961/georgia-tech-symposium-if-computer-fits-wear-it">wearable technology</a> integrated into your clothing</p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href="http://www.cc.gatech.edu/news/401671/online-and-duty-soldiers-add-their-oms-cs-stripes">cyber soldiers</a></p><p>-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; better <a href="http://www.cc.gatech.edu/news/402181/tom-conte-explains-how-rethinking-computer-necessary-future-performance-advances">processing power</a> in our computers</p><p>The national Week is supported by the Department of Education, National Science Foundation, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Small Business Administration, National Institute of Standards and Technology, NASA, Department of Homeland Security, and more.</p><p>A large number of <a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/06/18/fact-sheet-president-obama-host-first-ever-white-house-maker-faire">commitments</a> have been made by the federal government, mayors, educational institutions, companies, and non-profit organizations to expand opportunities for engaging students STEM through making.</p><p>As the President put it, “Today’s D.I.Y is tomorrow’s Made in America.</p>]]></body>
