  <title><![CDATA[Ragauskas Named to Positions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, University of Tennessee]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The Institute of Paper Science and Technology (IPST) at Georgia Tech congratulates Dr Art Ragauskas on his new appointment at the University of Tennessee in a new UT-ORNL Governor’s Chair for Biorefining.&nbsp; Art has held appointments at IPST and Georgia Tech for 25 years, and he will begin his Governor’s Chair on June 1.&nbsp; We are also pleased that Art has set a goal to build upon the research relationship between Georgia Tech and ORNL.</p><p>“We are pleased at this most recent recognition of Professor Art Ragauskas’ expertise in biorefining,” commented IPST director Norman Marsolan.&nbsp; “Besides, this opportunity opens up new avenues to deepen our collaboration with Oak Ridge in biomanufacturing and biorefining.”</p><p>Art will hold an adjunct professor appointment with the Georgia Tech School of Chemistry &amp; Biochemistry where he will continue to direct the research of several Paper Science and Engineering PhD candidates.&nbsp; “We wish Art success in his new appointment, his continuing relationship with IPST-GA Tech, and his research in the forest bioproducts field,” continued Marsolan.</p><p>The University of Tennessee’s press release appears below.<br />------------------------------------------------<br /><strong>Bioenergy Expert Named Fourteenth Governor's Chair&nbsp;</strong><br /><a href="http://article.wn.com/view/2014/02/18/Bioenergy_Expert_Named_Fourteenth_Governor_s_Chair_The_Unive/" target="_blank">http://article.wn.com/view/2014/02/18/Bioenergy_Expert_</a><br /><a href="http://article.wn.com/view/2014/02/18/Bioenergy_Expert_Named_Fourteenth_Governor_s_Chair_The_Unive/" target="_blank">Named_Fourteenth_Governor_s_Chair_The_Unive/</a><br />Arthur Ragauskas, an authority in bioenergy, has been named the fourteenth UT-Oak Ridge National Laboratory Governor's Chair. &nbsp;He will serve as Governor's Chair for Biorefining, based in UT's Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a complementary appointment in the UT Institute of Agriculture's Department of Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries.
