{"394491":{"#nid":"394491","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Students Answer Honor Code Questions on Reddit","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EOn Wednesday, April 8, students from the Honorary Advisory Council (HAC) at Georgia Tech are taking to Reddit, the online social media community, to educate their peers about the Institute\u2019s Honor Code.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAs part of Honor Week, the group will host an Ask Me Anything (AMA) open forum on Reddit. HAC members will be on hand from 7 to 11 p.m. at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/reddit.com\/r\/gatech\u0022\u003Ewww.reddit.com\/r\/gatech\u003C\/a\u003E to answer questions submitted online by other students.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWe are hoping to increase awareness about the intricacies of the Honor Code,\u201d said HAC member Kenji Tanaka. \u201cBy encouraging people to think about the Honor Code, even for a moment, we can ensure the campus remains an environment of integrity and trust.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe forum, which will continue to maintain a presence on Reddit to serve as a resource for future reference, will enable students to ask questions anonymously (though users will need to create a Reddit account) and freely discuss the Honor Code with each other.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWe hope the format will embolden people to ask questions they may be afraid or embarrassed to ask in person,\u201d Tanaka said.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHAC is made up of undergraduate and graduate students who are well versed in the Honor Code and function as advisors to students and faculty. HAC members also serve as a confidential resource for students needing questions answered about academic misconduct or who may be working through incidents with the Office of Student Integrity.
