Specifically, EE Department is looking for enthusiastic candidates with solid background in any of these three fields, some background on seismic operations, and excellent programming skills.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022style9\u0022\u003EThe EE department recently established the Center for Energy and Geo Processing (CeGP) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in collaboration with Georgia Institute of Technology. The center is a joint initiative between the Department of Electrical Engineering at KFUPM and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Institute of Technology. The center research focuses on applying modern signal processing to energy-related signals such as seismic signals and geo-signals in general. In addition, the Center focuses on education projects that lead to developing curriculum and new learning methodologies. The center mission is to advance the theory of signal processing with the focus on geo signals and seismic data and to develop best education practices in engineering. The department has over 25 labs both for education and research.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022style9\u0022\u003EThe department has strong collaborative research and educational programs in communications, signal processing, power systems, automatic control, electromagnetic, and electronics. It has excellent infrastructure facilities to support advanced research activities. The department faculty has also access to major research facilities provided by the University Research Institute. Also, there are lots on venues to get grants for funded projects. Also, there are lots of opportunities to work with giant industries since the university hosts the largest collections of oil and gas companies in Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) which is located inside campus. DTV holds about 19 companies so far and the number is increasing. DTV is envisioned to be Middle East\u2019s most prestigious, industrial research and development (R\u0026amp;D) and technology nucleus.
