Much of his speech revolved around college affordability, but several moments within the address really hit home with the Yellow Jackets in the crowd.

Here are seven memorable moments from the commander in chief’s speech:

“Now, I understand George P. Burdell was supposed to introduce me today. But nobody could find him.”

In his introduction, the president showed off a little inside knowledge of Georgia Tech’s most famous alumnus. 

“In her letter, [Tiffany] said it was also to procrastinate from doing her Thermodynamics homework. That’s a true story.”

Tiffany Davis introduced the president. She also verified to Mr. Obama that she did finish that homework assignment.

“That's good. You’ve got a high approval rating.”

The moment after President Obama introduced Georgia Tech President Bud Peterson, Dr. Peterson received a roaring cheer from the crowd.

“It is great to be at one of the finest technical institutes in the world.”

No need for explanation.

“I also know that Georgia Tech is terrific because we’ve actually worked with you on several fronts — from promoting advanced manufacturing to unlocking the mysteries of the brain to helping more students become entrepreneurs.”

President Obama highlighted many of the projects where Georgia Tech and the White House have collaborated.

“It’s been established time and time again that Georgia Tech is one of the best bargains around.”

Georgia Tech is routinely ranked as one of the universities in America with the best return on investment.

“Not only can you succeed but you can help everybody else succeed. That’s the promise that helped us become the greatest nation in the world. That’s the promise that I need you working for.”
