  <title><![CDATA[MyJourney Compass patient tablet program expanding, giving patients devices to access their own medical data]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Rome’s medical community has been a pioneer in the field of electronic medical records. The&nbsp;<a href="http://www.gtresearchnews.gatech.edu/myjourney-compass-national-pilot/" target="_blank">MyJourney Compass</a>&nbsp;project, a partnership involving researchers at Georgia Tech and practitioners and patients in the Rome area, has taken records-sharing to a whole new level.</p><p>G.P. “Bud” Peterson, president of Georgia Institute of Technology, joined health care practitioners, patients and politicians at Redmond Regional Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon to review the project, funded by a $1.7 million Challenge Grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.</p>]]></body>
