  <title><![CDATA[Kennedy Elected as President of Atlanta Council on International Relations]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>After briefly serving as Vice President, <a href="http://inta.gatech.edu/people/faculty/robert-kennedy">Dr. Robert Kennedy</a>&nbsp;was elected President by the Board of Directors of the&nbsp;<a href="http://atlantacir.org/">Atlanta Council on International Relations</a>&nbsp;and assumed the office on November 20th. Bob, a former senior official in the U.S. Department of Defense, has served as director of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Germany, Deputy Commandant of the NATO Defense College in Italy, Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor of National Security Studies and Senior Researcher at the Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, and as a Foreign Affairs Officer with the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency. He also has served as an enlisted man in the U.S. Army and command pilot on active duty with the U.S. Air Force and later with the reserve forces from 1958 to 1986. He is currently a Professor and one of the founding members of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs.&nbsp;The Atlanta Council on International Relations is a non-profit and non-partisan educational organization that promotes understanding of international affairs through the free exchange of ideas. The purpose of the Council is to help leaders develop a nucleus of informed opinion on current issues of foreign policy.</p>]]></body>
