A sidewinder snake is shown in a sand-filled trackway at Zoo Atlanta. Researchers from Georgia Tech, Carnegie-Mellon University, Zoo Atlanta and Oregon State University studied the snakes to understand the unique motion they use to climb sandy slopes. (Credit: Rob Felt)
