That\u2019s what struck Diversity Roundtable first-timer Alan Katz about the 2014 iteration of the discussion-driven workshop on inclusion and diversity hosted by the Office of Human Resources. The experience consisted of a morning storytelling salon and an afternoon luncheon.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p4\u0022\u003E\u201cThe effort was down-to-earth,\u201d said Katz, assistant dean for Finance and Administration in the College of Computing. \u201cIt was all about people talking from the heart.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003E From recounts of being stereotyped with regard to political affiliation because of color, to carrying around the burden of hiding an upbringing in poverty behind the mask of white, able-bodied maleness, the stories were all touching and deeply personal.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003E \u201cPeople\u2019s willingness to share a lot of personal stuff through storytelling really encourages free conversation,\u201d said David Leonard, director of Academic and Research Technologies in the Office of Information Technology. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003E This year, the free conversations revolved around the topic \u003Cem\u003EInclusion Means Everyone is In\u003C\/em\u003E \u2013 everyone \u2013 including the white male.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003E Chuck Shelton, managing director of Greatheart Leader Labs, delivered the keynote address.
