{"299811":{"#nid":"299811","#data":{"type":"event","title":"2014 JPER Writing Workshop for New Scholars","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe editors of the \u003Cem\u003EJournal of Planning Education and Research\u003C\/em\u003E (JPER) will host the annual JPER Writing Workshop for New Scholars on August 6-10, 2014, at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. Their goal is to improve the quality of written scholarship among new faculty of planning and related academic programs. The workshop is intended for recent Ph.D. recipients (or candidates graduating in Spring 2014) in urban planning, urban studies, and closely related fields. Untenured assistant professors also are eligible to participate.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe program will include sessions on the writing and publication process, with intensive small-group work on participants\u0027 own manuscripts. Selected participants are required to submit an article-length paper (about 30 double-spaced pages) by April 25, 2014. The paper will go through a mock peer review process by three referees.
