297271 news 1399990520 1475896586 <![CDATA[LeDantec's Class Uses Campus as Laboratory]]> Assistant Professor Christopher Le Dantec, an avid cyclist, asked students in his Principles of Interaction Design course to use the campus as a living laboratory to address issues that involve cycling and cyclists.

His colleague in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Kari Watkins involved her students inseparate bike-pedestrian safety project with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The eventual goal of both classes is to work with Cycle Atlanta to develop a planning-level decision support tool to help GDOT decide what bike and pedestrian infrastructure is appropriate on various corridors.

In the meantime, the app is already helping cyclists around the city with their daily journeys to campus.
