At the same time, powering the ever growing number of heterogeneous sensors and devices is becoming a central point of the IoT conversation (click here for\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/materials.gatech.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/workshop-agenda\/recent_examples_regarding_the_eh_0.pdf\u0022 target=\u0022_self\u0022\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003Erecent examples regarding the EH-IoT connection\u003C\/strong\u003E)\u003C\/a\u003E. Traditional technologies rely on batteries, but for IoT, we will have trillions of sensors, replacing these batteries become an untenable, even impossible task considering the mobility of the sensors, life time and environmental impacts.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech\u2019s expertise in materials and systems for Energy Harvesting (EH), which spans several entities at the University, is widely recognized as innovative and at the front of the pack.
