{"287141":{"#nid":"287141","#data":{"type":"news","title":"MBA Pathway: Tech Students Can Earn Admission, Work Two Years, Then Start Degree","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech undergraduates in all majors now have an opportunity to get accepted into Scheller\u2019s MBA Program before even graduating.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ENormally, prospective MBA students are required to gain at least a few years of post-grad work experience before even being considered for Scheller College\u2019s Full-time and Evening MBA programs.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBut through Scheller\u2019s new MBA Pathway Program, Tech students can get ahead by earning deferred admission, working for at least two years, and then starting their MBA (Full-time or Evening).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EStudents interested in learning more can attend an MBA Pathway Info Session from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, April 8 in the Clough Commons building (Room 144).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe 2014 MBA Pathway application deadline is August 1. To apply in 2014 (to be eligible to start the MBA in 2016), students\u2019 graduation date must be December 2013, May 2014, or August 2014.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cThrough the program, Georgia Tech undergraduate students from all disciplines will have a new way to plan ahead for career advancement,\u201d says Paula Wilson, Scheller\u2019s director of MBA admissions. \u201cQualified students can secure admission during their final year of undergraduate studies.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EEarning an MBA is a great way for people from all academic and professional backgrounds to take their career to the next level, Wilson says. \u201cYou can start planning today to position yourself for leadership roles requiring greater understanding of the functional areas of business,\u201d she says.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe MBA Pathway Program is currently only available to Georgia Tech students. \u201cAs we considered offering a deferred-admission program, it made perfect sense to start with our great students here at Tech who are known for being exceptionally bright and hard-working.
