Ying received her PhD in 2008 from Georgia Institute of Technology, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics and Biostatistics at Rutgers. She was a former student of Roshan Vengazhiyil, ISyE professor, and Jeff Wu, Coca-Cola Chair at ISyE.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Institute of Mathematical Statistics selected Hung for the Tweedie award because of her \u201coutstanding contributions to design and analysis of computer experiments and statistical analysis with applications in cell biology.\u201d Ying will present the Tweedie New Researcher Invited Lecture at the IMS New Researchers\u2019 Conference, held this year in Boston in August.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cYing embodies the ideal statistician who can do basic research, useful methodology and high impact collaborative research. It was apparent even as a young graduate student. We are proud of her accomplishments thus far and look forward to what she will do next,\u201d said Wu and Vengazhiyil.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award supports junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAs a NSF Career award winner, Hung joins the ranks of ISyE statistics alumni Peter Qian who won in 2011 (former student of Wu) and M. K. Jeong who won in 2007 (former student of J.C.
