  <title><![CDATA[Ries Awarded Grant from Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Christine Ries has received a grant from the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice to describe the 'flipped classroom' model as it is developing in her classroom and several others at Georgia Tech. &nbsp;The study will identify the &nbsp;new educational technologies and support applications that are emerging from a range of small, innovative, start-up ventures. &nbsp;Three Ed Tech entrepreneurs who support class 'flippers' at Tech participated in a panel discussion in her class at Tech last semester. &nbsp;They will be featured in the study.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The study will also describe the innovation pathways by which these technologies and pedagogies are likely to deliver the greatest transformation in educational effectiveness for the largest numbers of students.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>]]></body>
