<![CDATA[JMHP New Student Retreat 2026]]> 27332 Beginning in 2015, the program implemented a first-year retreat. The retreat provides an opportunity to connect, learn, and explore. The retreat is planned and led by the Honors Leadership Council along with the help of the John H. Martinson Honors Program (JMHP) staff.

The JMHP first-year retreat is scheduled for August 17 - 18, 2026.

Martinson Honors Program (JMHP).  Come and join fellow members of the JMHP for games, food trucks, swag, and fun!  The event will be held in the courtyard of the Eighth Street Apartments from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on August 27.  Additional information will be posted early at the start of the academic year.  We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Current John H. Martinson Honors Program students, family, and alums are invited to join us for a 20th anniversary themed celebration including food, games, and giveaways as we tailgate for the Homecoming Game Georgia Tech vs. Boston College on Saturday, October 24th!

Tailgate time is TBD until the Homecoming game time is announced closer to the event. More information and registration to follow via email.

The event will be held on Friday, September 18th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM in the Rafael Bras Room of the John Lewis Student Center.

It is staffed by Prototyping Instructors, student volunteers who are on hand to train you and help with your projects. The machinery is geared towards mechanical engineering students, but use of the Studio is free for all students, faculty and staff of Georgia Tech, regardless of year, major, or prior experience.

The Invention Studio is one of the four major makerspaces on GT campus (along with the Hive, the MILL, and the Aero Maker Space). JMHP is collaborating with the Invention Studio for a comprehensive tour of the space to introduce students to some of the resources available on campus! 

Meet in the Eighth Street Courtyard by 10:40am to walk to MRDC together!

It is located in the rotunda of the Van Leer Building, in the heart of Georgia Tech’s campus. The IDC opened in September 2018 to provide the Georgia Tech community an accessible engineering space. Here, students can cultivate their making skills, create prototypes for their next big idea, and even build out their personal projects for fun!
