{"259181":{"#nid":"259181","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Students in Konkol\u0027s Class Featured in Tech4Good","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EFour of Margaret Konkol\u0027s first-year Writing and Communication Program students in \u201cAtlanta Food Systems\u201d were selected to present their posters at Tech4Good, an Institute-wide showcase of more than 30 civic engagement projects created at Georgia Tech. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EKonkol\u0027s students examined the values, practices, and social conditions that shape food production, distribution, and consumption here in Atlanta. The projects created by the students chosen for the Tech4Good showcase included collaborative human-geography inspired multi-modal research posters addressing the questions \u201chow does a neighborhood feed itself and what are the challenges a neighborhood faces in meeting this goal?\u201d Each poster represents an analysis of the food system surrounding a particular MARTA station.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EWorking in small groups, students conducted preliminary research before making site visits and meeting with neighborhood residents and community gardeners.
