251951 news 1383826666 1475896518 <![CDATA[Region Two of the Associated Schools of Construction Elects School of Building Construction Professor as Director]]> At the fall business meeting on October 31, 2013, Region Two of the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) elected Assistant Professor Javier Irizarry as director of Region Two.  During his three-year term as director, Irizarry will serve on the Board of Directors of the ASC at the national level and will lead Region Two in all regional business including supporting new member programs, promoting membership, and organizing the Annual Student Competition and Faculty Conference.

The Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) is the professional association for the development and advancement of construction education, where the sharing of ideas and knowledge inspires, guides and promotes excellence in curricula, teaching, research and service. Javier Irizarry is an assistant professor in the School of Building Construction and director of the CONECTech Lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research is focused on mobile computing in construction, human factors, construction safety, IT applications in AEC education and practice, and unmanned aerial systems in AEC. He teaches graduate-level courses in virtual construction operations analysis and sustainable sonstruction technologies and serves as the graduate coordinator for the Residential Construction Development Track in the master’s program in the School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech.
