Data from the 1990, 2000, 2010 census surveys indicate that the metropolitan area has become more African American, more Latino\/Hispanic, and more Asian each year. The trend among Hispanic and Asian populations is that they have moved beyond traditional metro destinations like Los Angeles and New York in ever expanding numbers, creating \u201cnew immigrant destinations\u201d across the US.
