It is a time for exploring how a philosophy of openness improves the reach and impact of research.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech faculty showed commitment to that vision by passing the Institute\u0027s Open Access Policy, which went into effect at the beginning of 2013. The Open Access Policy enables authors to retain some rights to their scholarly articles so that a version (such as an author\u0027s version or a pre-print) of their work can be archived in an open access repository, such as Georgia Tech\u0027s own institutional repository,\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/library.gatech.edu\/scdc\/SMARTech_submission\u0022\u003ESMARTech\u003C\/a\u003E, in addition to being published in refereed journals and conferences.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETo celebrate Open Access Week at Georgia Tech, the Library will host a series of events to explore opinions, experiences, and implications of open access--from all sides of the issue.
