The principles of writing a proposal will be valuable for all students.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul class=\u0022ul1\u0022\u003E\u003Cli class=\u0022li9\u0022\u003ENSF applications are due in early November.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cul class=\u0022ul1\u0022\u003E\u003Cli class=\u0022li9\u0022\u003EThere will be a discussion of the essays required and the NSF requirement to include broader impact and intellectual merit statements as well as information about references. NSF has changed essay requirements this year, and the agency is no longer requiring 3 essays. Students need to learn about the new requirements.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cul class=\u0022ul1\u0022\u003E\u003Cli class=\u0022li9\u0022\u003EStudents are eligible to apply in their senior year and at the beginning of their first or second year in graduate school. BS\/MS students are eligible to apply the year after they complete this combined degree. Otherwise students who hold a master\u2019s degree are not eligible.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cul class=\u0022ul1\u0022\u003E\u003Cli class=\u0022li9\u0022\u003EOnly \u003Cstrong\u003EU.S. citizens and permanent residents\u003C\/strong\u003E are eligible to apply for NSF Graduate Research Fellowships.
