But a first-of-its kind program between Georgia Tech and two single-gender Atlanta high schools is working to change the trend.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EProject ENGAGE (Engaging New Generations at Georgia Tech through Engineering), an\u0026nbsp;initiative of the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/westsidegtalliance.org\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EWestside Communities Alliance\u003C\/a\u003E,\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003Eis an internship program which allows local high school students to actively participate in scientific research under the guidance of Master\u0027s and Ph.D. students and faculty members. Students will complete the internship over the course of the 2013-2014 school year.
