This unique opportunity allows participants to not only hear the head of one of the world\u2019s largest auto makers discuss his company\u2019s dramatic turnaround, but also ask him questions as part of this interactive session.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EUnder Mulally\u0027s leadership, Ford has managed one of the greatest comeback stories in American manufacturing \u2013 returning from the brink of bankruptcy and winning back consumers and investors. To achieve this, Mulally focused Ford\u2019s efforts on working together as one team to serve customers with a full family of vehicles with best-in-class quality, fuel efficiency, safety and technology. He also is a member of the company\u2019s Board of Directors.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EPrior to joining Ford in September 2006, Mulally served as executive vice president of The Boeing Company, and president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In that role, he was responsible for all of the company\u2019s commercial airplane programs and related services. Mulally also was a member of the Boeing Executive Council and served as Boeing\u2019s senior executive in the Pacific Northwest.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMulally was named Boeing\u2019s president of Commercial Airplanes in September 1998. The responsibility of chief executive officer for the business unit was added in March 2001.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EPreviously, Mulally served as president of Boeing Information, Space \u0026amp; Defense Systems and senior vice president of The Boeing Company. Appointed to that role in February 1997, he was responsible for Boeing\u2019s defense, space and government business.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBeginning in 1994, Mulally was senior vice president of Airplane Development for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group, responsible for all airplane development activities, flight test operations, certification and government technical liaison. Earlier, Mulally served as Boeing\u2019s vice president of Engineering, and as vice president and general manager of the 777 program.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMulally joined Boeing in 1969 and progressed through a number of significant engineering and program-management assignments, including contributions on the 727, 737, 747, 757 and 767 airplanes.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThroughout his career, Mulally has been recognized for his contributions and industry leadership, including being named \u0022Businessperson of the Year\u0022 by the readers of Fortune magazine, \u0022Industry Leader of the Year\u0022 by Automotive News magazine, one of \u201cThe World\u2019s Most Influential People\u201d by TIME magazine, one of \u0022The 30 Most Respected CEOs\u0022 by Barrons magazine, \u0022Person of the Year\u0022 by Financial Times in its FT ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Awards, \u0022Chief Executive of the Year\u0022 by Chief Executive magazine, \u0022Man of the Year\u0022 in the automotive sector by El Mundo, \u0022World Top Manager\u0022 by InterAutoNews, \u201cPerson of the Year\u201d by Aviation Week magazine and one of \u201cThe Best Leaders\u201d by BusinessWeek magazine. He has also been honored with the Automotive Executive of the Year Award, the Edison Achievement Award and induction into the Kansas Business Hall of Fame.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMulally serves on the President\u0027s Export Council which was formed in 2010 to advise U.S. President Barack Obama on export enhancement and ways to encourage companies to increase exports and enter new markets. He previously served as co-chairman of the Washington Competitiveness Council, and sat on the advisory boards of NASA, the University of Washington, the University of Kansas, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the U.S. Air Force Scientific Advisory Board. He is a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering and a fellow of England\u2019s Royal Academy of Engineering.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHe also served as a past president of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and is a former president of its Foundation. Additionally, Mulally served as a past chairman of the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industries Association.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMulally holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the University of Kansas, and earned a master\u2019s in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a 1982 Alfred P.
