Because parking and campus transit are essential to student life at Georgia Tech, the Institute offers a number of options for drivers, commuters, bikers, and cyclists. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECampus Parking\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAll students, including freshmen, are invited to purchase parking permits for their cars, motorcycles, or mopeds. By purchasing a permit, students may park in their assigned lots at any time (except for special events). Visit our offices at 828 W. Peachtree St. (Tech Square) to purchase a permit.\u0026nbsp; All permits are transferred to student bursar accounts for payment.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to parking in an assigned zone, all annual permit holders may park after-hours in non-residential areas (except E82). Parking is allowed from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 5 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Monday, excluding E45 and E81 (both must be vacated by 6 a.m.).\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECampus Transit\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Tech Trolley and Stinger buses provide the Institute with reliable transportation within the campus borders and surrounding areas. The Tech Trolley also provides service to the Midtown MARTA (rapid transit) rail station. The Stinger\u2019s Red, Blue and Green routes offer bus service to various stops on campus. All vehicles are lift-equipped. Boarding fees and IDs are not required to ride the transit system. Safe Ride Home memberships can be purchased for students who need after-hours rides to the Home Park and Centennial Place communities. To use the Safe Ride Home membership, speak to a dispatcher during each call.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAlso, the Midnight Rambler is a night trolley providing service from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. seven days a week during fall and summer semesters. The Rambler\u2019s route starts at the west campus residential area and ends at the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, with stops along the way at the Student Center, North Avenue Dining Hall and east campus. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFor the Disabled\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDisability parking on the Georgia Tech campus requires that a state-issued disability placard or license plate and a Georgia Tech parking permit be displayed. Parking is authorized in any disability space on campus with these credentials.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EStingerette Paratransit Service serves members of the Georgia Tech community who need transportation assistance on campus due to permanent or temporary mobility impairments. This service operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Authorization to use this service must be obtained from \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.adapts.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EDisability Services\u003C\/a\u003E, a unit of the Office of the Dean of Students, located in the Student Services Building (404.894.2561).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAlso, all Stingers and Trolleys are lift-equipped and benefit passengers in accordance with recommendations to the Americans with Disabilities Act.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EOff-Campus Access\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMany transit options offer off-campus service, including the Tech Trolley, which travels to and from the Midtown MARTA station and Publix grocery store at Peachtree Place. The Weekend Grocery Shuttle provides service to Atlantic Station\u2019s Publix grocery store, and the Emory Shuttle runs a scheduled route from Georgia Tech to Emory University\u2019s Woodruff Circle. Car pool captains will receive a discounted rate on their parking permit purchase and can invite other students into the car pool. Each car pool member is eligible for a complimentary one-day parking pass each month. For an added benefit, log your commute daily at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.logyourcommute.org\u0022 title=\u0022www.logyourcommute.org\u0022\u003Ewww.logyourcommute.org\u003C\/a\u003E to earn rewards for carpooling. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESmartPark\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESmartPark offers flexibility for students who occasionally drive to campus. This pay-as-you-go program costs $25 to join each year. SmartPark allows parking in one of three campus lots \u2014 Technology Square Parking Deck (E81), Visitor Parking Area 3, and North Deck (W23) \u2014 from 5:30 a.m. to midnight daily (overnight parking is not permitted). The rate is $6 per use and is automatically debited from each member\u2019s BuzzCard account. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EZipcar\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis car-sharing program provides members with vehicles on an hourly or daily basis. With cars conveniently located around campus, students can rent a car for personal use. Gas, maintenance, insurance, and campus parking are included in rental fees. Zipcar is open to students ages 18 and over who meet membership requirements. It also operates direct rail service to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EStudents can purchase monthly unlimited MARTA passes from the Ferst Center Box Office in the Student Center at a discounted rate, making MARTA a convenient mode for commuters. Georgia Tech is near the Midtown and North Avenue rail stations on the Gold and Red Lines. The Tech Trolley provides direct service from campus to the Midtown Station\u2019s Peachtree Place entrance only. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EVisitors\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EShort-term parking is accommodated at parking meters and at pay-by-cell locations.
