  <title><![CDATA[Counseling Center Educates on Addiction, Outreach and Mentoring]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Irene Dalton, Ph.D., psychologist and practicum coordinator for the Counseling Center, Abby Myers, Ph.D., psychologist and AOD coordinator for the Counseling Center, and Shannon Croft, M.D., psychiatrist in Student Health, presented at&nbsp; the American Psychological Association's&nbsp; Division 28 and Division 50 "Collaborative Perspectives on Addiction" conference on May 4, 2013 in Atlanta. The title of their presentation was "Interdisciplinary Treatment Teams for Addictive Disorders on College Campuses."</p><p>Tiffiny Hughes-Troutman, Ph.D., psychologist and coordinator of outreach for the Counseling Center, presented on "Using Moble Handheld Technology to Assist with Outreach to Multicultural Millennials" at the 2013 Association for University and College Counseling Center Outreach (AUCCCO) conference in Gainesville, Florida on June 7. Through this yearly conference, AUCCCO unites college counseling center outreach coordinators across the country with the goal of sharing creative ways of educating students about mental health.</p><p>In addition, Tiffiny, who is also on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Psychological Association, published an article entitled "The Value of Mentoring in GPA" for the spring 2013 issue of the Georgia Psychologist. The article highlights how licensed psychologists can strengthen the field by engaging students, newly licensed psychologists, and psychologists in transition through mentoring, support, and advocacy.</p>]]></body>
