200141 news 1363611630 1475896431 On Friday, March 15, the second annual “Student View” exhibition opened in the Ferst Center Gallery. The display of multimodal artifacts showcases the exceptional creativity of Georgia Tech students. The works included in this show have been produced in Writing and Communication and School of Literature, Media, and Communication courses during the Spring 2012 and Fall 2012 semesters.

The artifacts represent a variety of media: digital media, collage, poster art, book art, photo essay, and video. These artifacts meet and exceed the bounds of the assignments for which
they were first created. All of them remind us of the way art, media, and design can enrich and influence our lives. To showcase students’ unique work, the Writing and Communication Program presents exhibitions across campus: the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, the Stephen C. Hall Building, and the Ferst Center.

A collaboration between The Writing and Communication Program and the Ferst Center, this show aims to promote awareness of the arts at Tech. Following on the success of last year’s show, Student View 2013 offers an opportunity for students, parents, faculty, and administrators to enter into dialogue as students showcase their work in a gallery setting.

Student View will be on display at the Ferst Center Gallery from March through April 2013. During the TechArts Festival, April 11-13, a reception will be held to honor the student artists and the professors who nominated their works.
