{"196511":{"#nid":"196511","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Important Changes to the Financial Aid Application for Georgia Resident Students","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EBeginning with the summer term 2013, the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) will require a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in order to receive any state financial aid which includes HOPE, Zell Miller, and Hero Scholarships. Students applying for state financial aid will be required to complete and submit a FAFSA to determine eligibility for student aid, regardless of whether the student is applying for any federal assistance.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EEither the 2012-13 or 2013-14 \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.fafsa.ed.gov\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EFAFSA\u003C\/a\u003E may be used to satisfy this requirement for summer term 2013.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe 2013-14 \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.fafsa.ed.gov\/\u0022\u003EFAFSA\u003C\/a\u003E will be required for fall term 2013 and will be applicable through summer term 2014.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMoving forward, a current year FAFSA will be required for each year that you seek state financial aid. A FAFSA can be submitted now at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.fafsa.ed.gov\u0022\u003Ewww.fafsa.ed.gov\u003C\/a\u003E.
