Kenneth Frontman, Ph.D., psychologist for the Counseling Center, along with other leaders from the Ben Marion Institute of Social Justice, recently presented to youth leaders from the Southeast Region who serve the BBYO (B'Nai Brith Youth Organization). The workshop focused on lowering the risk for youths to become involved in abusive relationships. The Ben Marion Institute for Social Justice is a non-profit organization serving the Atlanta Metro area in educational and organizational programming to enhance understanding among all groups and positively integrate diversity with a special emphasis on the needs of young people in our community. Tiffiny Hughes-Troutman, Ph.D., psychologist and coordinator of outreach and professional development for the Counseling Center, recently delivered a presentation on "Transitioning to College" for the Georgia Psychological Association's (GPA) 2013 Mind/Body Health Fair at Norcross High School. Tiffiny spoke to a diverse crowd of students and families, addressing the unique concerns of student veterans, students of color, first-generation college students, students with disabilities, and other underrepresented college student populations. The Mind/Body Health Fair was open and free to the general public and brought psychological information and resources to those who may be hesitant to seek help.
