When completed, the profile is similar to a visual resume or LinkedIn page and can be used to promote students\u2019 accomplishments throughout their time at the Institute.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Institute issues notifications, which are essentially invites to \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\u0022\u003Ereadabout.me\u003C\/a\u003E, when students earn Faculty Honors, make the Dean\u2019s List, enroll as President\u2019s Scholars or graduate. A brief, personalized news article accompanies each achievement on a student\u2019s profile. This week, for the first time, Tech will issue a notice to all newly enrolled students, resulting in all freshmen having access to \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\u0022\u003Ereadabout.me\u003C\/a\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech has long distributed announcements to hometown newspapers across the country, highlighting its students\u2019 achievements using readMedia, the parent company of \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\u0022\u003Ereadabout.me\u003C\/a\u003E. Now, students can capitalize on those announcements by claiming and completing their \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\u0022\u003Ereadabout.me\u003C\/a\u003E profile when they earn an achievement from Georgia Tech.\u0026nbsp;Part of readabout.me\u0027s goal is to help students enhance their online presence, letting recruiters and employers find positive, validated information \u2014 the \u0022good stuff\u0022 \u2014 when students pursue a job hunt.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETo claim your \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\u0022\u003Ereadabout.me\u003C\/a\u003E profile:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003ELook out for an achievement notification this week, retrieve one from the past or see if you\u2019re included in \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\/edu\/georgia-institute-of-technology\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech\u2019s list of student achievements\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EUse the Connect to Facebook application to log in and edit your profile. If you don\u2019t want \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/readabout.me\u0022\u003Ereadabout.me\u003C\/a\u003E to publish anything on your Facebook profile, simply \u201cX\u201d out of both options in the dialog box that appears when connecting through Facebook, then click \u201cSkip.\u201d\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EOnce you\u2019ve claimed your profile, save the link as a bookmark or favorite to easily return to it and update your activities.
