He received the Ph.D. Degree in Economics from Cornell University. His areas of specialization include the following: Business and Firm Administration, Entrepreneurship, Startups and Growth; Gov\u2019t Policy, Household Analysis and Neighborhood Effects; Quantitative Project\/Program Evaluation; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Demographic Economics and the Economics of Minorities and Races.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHe is the founder and CEO of EuQuant, an economic consulting company. The company specializes in quantitative research on minority, women and non-minority small businesses, and market research and program performance evaluations. In January of 2012, EuQuant launched the Gazelle Index (\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.gazelleindex.com\/\u0022 data-bitly-type=\u0022bitly_hover_card\u0022\u003Ewww.gazelleindex.com\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;). The web site provides the first ever up-to-date information on minority, women and small business hiring, performance and outlook. The information is derived from a quarterly, on-going, national scientific survey of black, Latino, Asian, women and non-minority CEOs.\u0026nbsp; In July 2011, the Atlanta Tribune Magazine ranked EuQuant (\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.euquant.com\/\u0022 data-bitly-type=\u0022bitly_hover_card\u0022\u003Ewww.euquant.com\u003C\/a\u003E) the #2 black-owned businesses in the State of Georgia; as measured by its commitment to community, wealth of knowledge, vision, and financial capacity.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Boston is the author of six books and numerous scholarly articles. He is the past President of the National Economic Association, previous editor of The Review of Black Political Economy, past Senior Economist to the Joint Economic Committee of Congress, former member of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank Advisory Council on Small and Midsize Businesses, and past economic advisor to four mayors of Atlanta. He has received research grants from the MacArthur Foundation, Kauffman Foundation, US Department of Housing and Urban Development and numerous others. A national and international consultant, he served as advisor to the Nigerian National Assembly House Committee on Millennium Development Goals and South African Free State Legislature on MDGs. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Boston has received many awards, including the Purple Heart for US military service; Georgia Tech\u2019s \u201cIvan Allen College Legacy Award\u201d; Georgia Tech\u2019s \u201cUndergraduate Professor of the Year Award\u201d; the \u201cState of Georgia Economics Educator of the Year Award.\u0022 He has testified numerous times before committees of the US House of Representatives and the Senate and in April, 2012, he was invited to the White House to discuss the state of African Americans during the economic recovery.
