Thrombosis is the pathological formation of platelet aggregates which cause stroke or heart attack. We report on the design, fabrication, testing, and application of a microfluidic device and associated optical system for optimizing efficacy of anti-platelet therapies for thrombosis prevention and treatment using simultaneous measurement of platelet aggregation at multiple initial shear rates in label free whole blood.

"Evaluation of Intra-Articular Therapeutic Delivery Strategies for Osteoarthritis using Contrast Based CT Imaging"

Osteoarthritis (OA) affects nearly 27 million people in the US alone. The objective of this proposal is to examine two distinct intra-articular treatment strategies for OA in a rat joint degeneration model using equilibrium ionic contrast agent based micro-CT (EPIC-µCT).
