"A Clinician's Perspective of a Cancer Problem: We Need Your Help"

Dr. Lechowicz discusses how to approach a cancer problem based on the three phases of clinical trials.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Lechowicz received her B.A. from Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York with the distinction of cum laude.  She then earned her M.D. from the State University of New York in Syracuse, New York where she ranked third clinically in her third and fourth year. Dr. Lechowicz completed her internship, residency, and chief residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, New York. She went on to complete a fellowship in oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Lechowicz joined the Winship Cancer Institute in July of 2003.

Dr. Lechowicz’s research focuses on novel therapies for Hodgkin’s and Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas specifically cutaneous and peripheral T-cell lymphomas. Her interest in HIV and malignancies began with her training at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Lechowicz is the primary investigator for 14 trials at Emory University with regard to improvement of care in non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, particularly related to transplantation and diffused B-cell lymphomas; cutaneous and peripheral lymphomas; T-cell lymphomas; and HIV and lymphoma care.
