Mr. Baker is an internationally-respected authority on corruption, money laundering, growth, and foreign policy issues. He is the Director of Global Financial Integrity, a program of the Center for International Policy in Washington, DC and author of the book, <em>Capitalism's Achilles Heel: Dirty Money and How to Renew the Free-Market System.</em></p>

<p><em>More about the Speaker</em></p><p>Raymond
Baker is the Director of Global Financial Integrity. He is also the author of <em>Capitalism’s Achilles Heel: Dirty Money and
How to Renew the Free-Market System</em>, a book that was cited by the Financial
Times as one of the “best business books of 2005.” </p>



<p>Mr.
Baker is an internationally-respected authority on corruption, money
laundering, growth, and foreign policy issues, particularly as they concern
developing and transitional economies and their impact upon western economic
and foreign interests. As such, he has testified before legislative committees
in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom and has commented
frequently on television and radio about legislative matters and policy questions.
He has appeared on Nightline, CNN, BBC, NPR, Four Corners, and GloboNews, among
others.</p>



<p>Mr.
Baker is a Senior Fellow at the Center for International Policy in Washington,
D.C., where he studies the linkages between corruption, money laundering, and
poverty. From 1985 to 1996, he provided confidential economic advisory services
at the presidential level for governments of developing countries, focusing principally
on issues surrounding anticorruption strategies, international terms of trade,

<p>Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business
leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and
give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from
"building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful
entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible
leadership". The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and
the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from
successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and
non-profit leaders. Events for the series take place in the LeCraw Auditorium
in the College of Management building at 4:30 pm on Wednesdays unless otherwise
noted. <strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>The series is free and open to the public, and reservations are not
required.</strong></p>
