{"109751":{"#nid":"109751","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Madhavan Swaminathan Awarded Guest Professorship, Distinguished Lecturer Positions","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EMadhavan Swaminathan was awarded a guest professorship \nby Zhejiang University and has been selected as a distinguished \nlecturer by the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Swaminathan was chosen to be a guest professor in the Department of Information Science and Electronics Engineering for his pioneering contributions to electronic packaging. This professorship was awarded by Liu Xu,\u0026nbsp; the dean of Information Technology and Engineering at Zhejiang University at the IEEE Electrical Design of Advanced Packaging and Systems Symposium held in Hangzhou, China on December 13, 2011. As one of the premier institutions in China, Zhejiang University ranks third amongst over 1,000 universities in the country. Through this professorship, Dr. Swaminathan will be invited to deliver guest seminars and collaborate with the faculty at Zhejiang University and jointly supervise postgraduate students.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Swaminathan was selected as a Distinguished Lecturer by the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society for a two-year period. He is one of three new distinguished lecturers announced this year, and he will deliver seminars at IEEE EMC chapters around the world on three topics: 1) Designing for Power Integrity: Status, Challenges, and Opportunities; 2) Multi-scale and Multi-physics modeling: Their Role in 3D Integration; and 3) Micro and Nano Miniaturization of Systems.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EA professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech, Dr. Swaminathan also serves as the director of the Interconnect and Packaging Center and is the Joseph M.
