{"109471":{"#nid":"109471","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Public Policy Student  Arora Wins GTRIC Award","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ESchool of Public Policy PhD student,\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003ESanjay Arora,\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;won a poster session award at the 2012 \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.sga.gatech.edu\/graduate\/GTRIC\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech Research \u0026amp; Innovation Conference\u003C\/a\u003E (GTRIC) on\u0026nbsp;February 7th.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EArora\u0027s poster was entitled: \u0022Commercialization of New and Emerging Technologies: A Cross Country Comparison of Graphene Firms.\u0022 The project looks at how small- to medium-sized firms working in graphene, a novel nanotechnology material, present and reveal their business strategies online. The findings suggest that \u0022firm strategy is influenced by level of technical specialization, country level factors,and the degree to which the firm is oriented toward application and end-use sectors. Implications for entrepreneurship and innovation policy highlight the heterogeneous composition and goals of young companies working in novel scientific areas.\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMore than 300 Georgia Tech graduate students presented\u0026nbsp;research at the conference.\u0026nbsp;As a winning poster,\u0026nbsp;Arora receives a $1500 professional travel grant to present his research at professional meetings.
