P. \u201cBud\u201d Peterson and Executive\nDirector of Housing Mike Black made remarks in front of the apartments\nThursday, Feb. 9.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EWith a 2,000-bed capacity, five buildings and nearly one\nmillion square feet of space, the student apartment community is the largest\nuniversity housing complex in the world to achieve the LEED EB O\u0026amp;M\ncertification. Peterson commended staff, who spent three years working together\nto upgrade cleaning, operations and maintenance systems for the apartments,\nnoting that such a transformation could only have been achieved by those\ncommitted to a common vision and to Georgia Tech students.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Zelnak Center Basketball Facility, Old Civil Engineering\nBuilding, Women\u2019s Softball Complex and Klaus Advanced Computing Building\naccompany the NAA on the list of LEED Gold certified buildings on campus; the\nCollege of Management is certified Silver. As of 2009, all new buildings and\nrenovations on Tech\u2019s campus are built to LEED gold specifications but must be\nreviewed and approved by the United States Green Building Council for\ncertification.\u003C\/p\u003E","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech President G.
