  <title><![CDATA[College of Computing Students Win Awards at GTRIC]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Five College of Computing students won poster session awards at the 2012 Georgia Tech Research &amp; Innovation Conference (GTRIC) on Tuesday, Feb. 7.</p><p>The winners, all graduate students in the School of Computer Science, were each awarded $1,500 travel grants in order to present their posters at professional meetings. The students and their winning projects were:</p><ul><li>Shauvik Roy Choudhary – “CrossCheck: Effective Detection of Cross-Browser Incompatibilities in Web Applications"</li><li>Kirak Hong – "Target Container: A Target-Centric Parallel Programming Abstraction for Pervasive Camera Networks"</li><li>&nbsp;Prajakta Kalmegh – "Analyze Community Intelligence over semi-structured data"</li><li>Saamer Akshhabi – "The Evolution of Layered Protocol Stacks Leads to an Hourglass-Shaped Architecture"</li><li>Xing Liu – "Parallel de novo Assembler for Next Generation Genome Sequencing"</li></ul><p>Organized and hosted by the GT Student Government Association, GTRIC is an annual event that exists to showcase graduate student research at Georgia Tech, stimulate innovation at the student level and provide students an opportunity to pitch ideas and obtain sponsorship.</p>]]></body>
