Levine on Chinese Crackdown on Unapproved Stem Cell Treatments

“What they're saying seems very positive and, if enforced, would be a step in the direction,” said Aaron Levine, assistant professor in the School of Public Policy, regarding efforts by Chinese officials to crack down on unapproved stem cell treatments. Chinese officials have ordered a halt on all new applications for clinical trials of stem cell products until at least July and said that physicians could no longer charge money in the country for experimental stem cell procedures. Levine continued, “The question is: will it be enforced?” Source: Nature (Nature Science) - February 6, 2012
