In 1911, Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans, the first woman to serve on the board of directors for The Coca-Cola Company and who is posthumously the largest donor in Georgia Tech history, spearheaded the work to build the first hospital on campus - the Joseph Brown Whitehead Memorial Hospital. Almost 100 years later, the facility, now known as the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, Dr. Edward Roe Stamps IIII Health Services, has gone through many improvements and changes to keep pace with modern medicine's evolution. But our commitment to supporting the success of our student community has never changed.

Today, student health care is delivered in a modern 30,000 square foot, state-of-the-art ambulatory center with world-class equipment. Stamps Health Services employs reputable physicians, advance practice nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, a dentist and health educators to care for and educate the students. The department of Health Promotion provides students with information, programs, resources, individual support and life-skills to encourage healthy choices. See our health promotion services and programs at www.healthpromotion.gatech.edu.

Beginning this fall, Health Services introduced "Advanced Access" online appointment scheduling. The new format offers same day and next day online reservations in our primary care clinic. This innovative method will improve a student's timely access to Health Services as well as make scheduling appointments more convenient. Students should go to www.myappointment.health.gatech.edu to register and schedule appointments.
