In 1911, Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans, the first woman to serve on the board of directors for The Coca-Cola Company and who is posthumously the largest donor in Georgia Tech history, spearheaded the work to build the first hospital on campus - the Joseph Brown Whitehead Memorial Hospital. Almost 100 years later, the facility, now known as the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, Dr. Edward Roe Stamps IIII Health Services, has gone through many improvements and changes to keep pace with modern medicine\u0027s evolution.
