The High Museum of Art, located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, prides itself on offering "innovative learning opportunities that appeal to curious learners of all ages." It is for this reason that the Office of Diversity Programs chose to collaborate with museum to offer Georgia Tech students free tickets to College Night at the High and experience the exhibition of "The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army" as part of the Chinese New Year celebration in February.

The College Night program featured a night viewing of the current exhibitions, live music, dancing, a Kung-fu film festival, arts and crafts and much more. The High extended their hours of operation from 7 p.m. until midnight. A partnership with GT Parking and Transportation provided consistent transportation from the Student Center to the High Museum. Approximately 175 Georgia Tech students were given free tickets, but any student with a current ID was offered admission at a discounted rate for the night's activities.

Associate Dean of Students and Director of Diversity Programs Stephanie Ray stated, "So many of our students come to Tech and never experience all the diversity and culture that Atlanta has to offer. I am extremely proud that we have had so much success with partnering with The High. I still have students calling wanting to know when we will sponsor another trip."

Exposure and access to programs like College Night at The High gives Georgia Tech students the opportunity to engage in intellectually and culturally stimulating experiences which will enrich their education and help them develop into global citizens.
