Tech Rec Offers Inexpensive Fun for Students

One of the best deals in Atlanta is right in the heart of campus - Tech Rec! The recreation center is fully equipped with a pool hall, bowling alley, lounge, and gaming station, not to mention favorites like table tennis, air hockey, and foosball. Plus, the price is unbeatable: everything is less than $5, with special deals almost every day!

Conveniently located on the first floor of the Student Center, Tech Rec is right in the center of campus. Students can “easily come in between classes and take a break ... just have fun,” said Michael Coleman, associate program director, Student Center. “This is an inexpensive outlet for students.”

According to Coleman, the best feature is the gaming lounge, which includes Playstation and networked Xbox 360s, a great deal at $3.50 per hour. The most popular activity is bowling, where students can rent both a lane and shoes for less than $5. Tech Rec has cosmic bowling on Fridays and Saturdays. There are also special deals on bowling three nights a week, making Tech Rec one of the cheapest bowling alleys around!

It is also a great place to socialize. Tech Rec is open to non-students, so students can bring their family and friends. Students can even rent out the entire complex or sections - it is the perfect setting for events like social meetings or birthday parties. Plus, as part of a new deal, orders to Jackets and Pandini’s can be placed at Tech Rec - dinner orders can even be delivered!
