An accomplished bassoon player, he nearly pursued musical performance studies at another university before deciding that a management education at Georgia Tech\u0027s \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/mgt.gatech.edu\/index.html\u0022\u003ECollege of Management\u003C\/a\u003E would be a more practical path. Now Dayabhai\u0027s on a pre-med track as well, preparing himself for a leadership role in the business of health care.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EStill able to express himself musically as a member of the student symphony, he knows he made the right choice in coming to Tech. \u0022Georgia Tech has definitely proven to me that this is the right place to be,\u0022 says Dayabhai, a junior who holds a R. Joe Taylor President\u0027s Scholarship. \u0022I now reach out to share this message with prospective students in order to give back to the school.\u0022\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESpreading the Word about Tech\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EDuring his sophomore year, Dayabhai started volunteering in the College of Management\u0027s Correspondence Campaign, in which current students open dialogues with top-performing high school students about the many benefits of the business school.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0022The College of Management has so much to offer, especially with its central location in Atlanta,\u0022 says Dayabhai, who was born in South Africa and raised after age four in Fayetteville, Georgia.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOutside of class, Dayabhai has filled his time with numerous activities both on- and off-campus. An avid sportsman, he plays with a championship winning intramural soccer team on campus. He serves on the Student Government Association\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Academic Affairs Committee and as president of Tech\u00e2\u0080\u0099s new Public Speaking Club. He\u0027s also pursued his interest in medicine as a volunteer at Grady Hospital, shadowing doctors and helping out in the emergency department and intensive care unit.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPursuing a Career in Health Care Leadership\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EHis current plan is to go into health care consulting for a few years, and then enroll in a joint MD\/MBA program at an elite university in preparation for an eventual career in hospital administration.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EDayabhai became interested in consulting during his freshman year, when his team won a consulting case challenge sponsored by Deloitte \u0026amp; Touche for their plan to find new marketing channels for a hypothetical firm. This summer he will work at Deloitte \u0026amp; Touche for a second time as a Business Technology Analyst Summer Scholar.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0022I like the fact that consulting is sort of like a puzzle,\u0022 he explains. \u0022There\u0027s no definite solution. Consulting requires a lot of analytical thinking, but also a degree of creativity.
