Primary tabs

A hands-on specialty conference for planning and designing transportation facilities that build better communities and enhance natural resources.

This is the second National Conference on Context Sensitive Solutions (the first was "Thinking Beyond the Pavement," held in 1998). CSS IN PRACTICE is a two-day, hands-on specialty conference for transportation professionals engaged in planning and designing roadways and other facilities. The goals of the conference are to advance the practices of Context Sensitive Solutions across the United States, provide tools for practioners to use every day, and discuss promising ideas and future dialogue/action.

Topics Include:
+ A "forensic" discussion on how good projects could have been made better.

+ A panel of experts will present tools for visualization, new planning and design tools, traffic capacity/calming analysis, and ideas for building partnerships with the private sector.

+ A hands-on workshop where participants will apply new tools and different approaches to actual projects including planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
