Library Hosts Charitable Book Drive for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Hospital

Primary tabs

Each holiday season, the Georgia Tech Library gives back to the Atlanta community.

This year, the Library wants to share the joy of the season during the holidays and beyond by stocking book shelves at one of the country's leading pediatric hospitals - Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Hospital. The annual Charitable Book Drive benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will run until December 21.

"We strive to maintain a presence and strengthen our relations throughout the community," said Karen Walton of the Library's Staff Activities Committee. "We have been a community partner donating to organizations such as: My Sister's House, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Centennial Elementary School and now the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta."

Decorative donation boxes for the Charitable Book Drive are located in the Library Rotunda, G. Wayne Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons CORE Desk, and Architecture Library. Due to health concerns, only new items can be accepted. Donation items include:

  • New books - children, pre-teen & teen books (2-18 yrs)
  • Coloring books and crayons
  • Dictionaries
  • Journals Books on Tape DVD's (non-violent)
