Georgia Tech is co-leading a global collaboration to develop an SDG “Virtual Mobility Project” – a series of online courses that bring together students and faculty from universities around the world to learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and put them into practice. Over the next few months, each partner university will host a webinar to share one area of expertise that they bring to the collaboration. Please join us for this first webinar, hosted by Georgia Tech, on SDG 13: Climate Action – “Higher Education as a Catalyst for Community Climate Action and Justice.”  In this webinar, we'll explore the drivers of urban heat islands, and their disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable community members, often low-income communities of color.  We'll discuss how students serving as community scientists are collecting data on urban temperature extremes, and putting it to work towards policies to enhance climate resilience and climate justice in partnership with a diverse set of community partners.
