Students: Host a High Schooler as Part of Connect with Tech!

Primary tabs

Connect with Tech is Georgia Tech’s overnight visitation program for high-achieving prospective students. High school seniors are invited to visit Tech for a night, arriving on Sunday afternoon and staying through Monday afternoon. A host’s weekend responsibilities include attending a pre-session meeting on Sunday, being present through Sunday evening, hosting their student where they live Sunday night and assisting with programming on Monday. Connect with Tech holds sessions in the spring and fall, totaling about six to eight per year.

Hosts are selected through a competitive process including group and individual interviews. As part of the program, hosts are privileged to build relationships with other student leaders, faculty, staff and administration. Hosts also receive leadership training, attend social activities with others hosts and are tasked with representing Georgia Tech to prospective future Yellow Jackets and their families.

“Through Connect with Tech, we get to give back to the community by helping high school seniors make an educated college decision,” said Nakul Chitalia, a past Connect with Tech host. “I like the fact that within 24 hours you can not only convey a great deal of information about GT, but also make a new friend.”

Apply online to be a host for 2011-12 sessions at cwt.gatech.edu. Application deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m. For more information, visit cwt.gatech.edu or attend a Connect with Tech information session on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 11:15 a.m. or 6:15 p.m. at the Bill Moore Student Success Center.
