Everyday Georgia Exhibit Continues Campus Tour

Primary tabs

If you missed last month's opening of Everyday Georgia at IPaT, there's still time to experience the multimedia exhibit which explores the lives of those touched by Georgia Tech's research and technology initiatives. After making a brief stop at the GVU Center Research Showcase on October 10, Everyday Georgia is now on display in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons on the first floor through December 4.

Through the coupling of photographs and interviews, the project shares the personal stories of Georgians – their challenges and accomplishments, and their vital role in Creating the Next at Georgia Tech. The interviews also give agency and additional context to the people documented in the photographs.

IPaT hosted the Everyday Georgia exhibit opening and reception on Thursday, September 27 for more than 40 people, including many of the two dozen people profiled for the project.

Everyday Georgia has an online presence through the Georgia Tech Library with support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS); the website includes in-depth stories and full audio interviews. The Library has also preserved the project’s audio and photos in its Special Collections and Archives, which maintains the historical records of the Institute.

We’re still looking for ideas and contributors for the project – compelling stories from Georgians who have a connection to Georgia Tech research, as well as photographers and interviewers of all skill levels. Visit everydaygeorgia.gatech.edu to submit your ideas, read detailed stories and listen to full interviews.

Everyday Georgia is made possible by the Institute for People and Technology at Georgia Tech, with sponsorship by the Georgia Tech Library’s IMLS-funded Communication Through Art program (Sparks Ignition Grant SP-02-16-0031-16), in partnership with the Georgia Tech Office of the Arts Creative Curricular Initiatives program.
