Leadership Transition Plans Underway for Information Technology

Primary tabs

With recent leadership changes in Georgia Tech’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), transition plans are underway this summer. For the next two months, a Leadership Council of OIT stakeholders will provide short-term guidance for ongoing activities and initiatives.

“Continuing the engagement of existing leaders for the next few weeks will help to lessen the level of change the organization and individuals are experiencing,” said Jim Fortner, interim executive vice president for Administration and Finance.

The Leadership Council will be chaired by Cas D’Angelo, associate vice president for Information Technology and chief operating officer for OIT. Members of the council will include:

  • Anant (“Jimmy”) Lummis, chief information security officer
  • David Leonard, director, Academic and Research Technologies
  • Dwayne Palmer, senior director of IT Governance and Planning
  • James Pete, deputy CIO, Campus Services Information Technology Group
  • JulieAnne Williamson, assistant vice president for Administration and Finance

In July, an interim vice president and chief information officer will be identified. Institute leadership is determining the appropriate timing for a search for permanent new leadership, and more information will be shared as that timing is determined.
